The 73rd Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August . A special assembly was conducted on this auspicious day. The programme commenced at 8:30 a.m with the Tamil Thai Valthu which was followed by flag hoisting. The tricolour was hoisted by our Director, Sekar Sir. It was followed by Kodipaadal . Hindi Patriotic song Vande Mataram reminded everyone about the pristine beauty of our motherland . The school band known for being the best in the city enthralled everyone with a wonderful rendition of Maa tujhe salaam.
Our Director, Sekar Sir addressed the gathered audience. He hailed our armed forces and their selfless service towards our country, reminding us about the successful surgical strikes in Uri . He also praised our Indian scientists who successfully launched the Chandrayaan and encouraged the gathered students to develop their scientific temper. He also commended Squadron Leader Minty Agarwal for her admirable decision-making ability during the surgical strikes which earned her the Yudh Seva medal making her the only woman to be awarded such an honour.
The program came to an end with the Vote of Thanks by Alifiya of 10th std.
