For the first time Suguna Pips ushered in new year by hosting Pongal celebrations in their campus on 13.1.2020. The students were all attired in the traditional Tamil dress.The school ground was decked up with the traditional decorations , kolams with the regal looking Ayyannar statue, presiding over the festivities complete with the horses.The hidden agenda being that the students should be aware of the meaning & significance of the important rituals associated with this harvest festival.
Pongal was cooked in the traditional way which was observed by the students. Traditional dances like kummi and kolattam and various other dances were performed by the students . Students also participated in various competitions like balloon bursting, eating murukkus, sack race etc. were conducted thus enhancing the joyful jamboree.
