The 72nd Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August with a special assembly. As scheduled, the program commenced at 8:30 a.m with Tamil Thai Valthu, followed by a Welcome Address. The national flag was then hoisted by Principal, Poovannan Sir.
Highlight of the assembly was the flag song and Hindi Patriotic songs presented by groups of students from different grades. The school band known for being the best in the city, too performed on this special occasion.
Principal, Poovannan Sir and Anbarasi Ma’am from the department of Tamil, addressed the gathering paying tribute to great leaders who paved the way for a free India. They called on the young minds to shoulder their responsibilities well to create a country envisioned by our leaders.
The program came to an end with prize distribution for various athletic events followed by Vote of Thanks.
